Samsung Hard Drives Win CES Innovation Award

Samsung Solid State Drives http://www.albawaba.com/business/pr/samsung-electronics-honored-30-ces-2… were voted amongst the most innovative new products this year in the CES Innovation Awards. The Samsung 830 Series solid state drives (SSDs) raise the bar for performance and reliability, reading and writing data up to twice as fast as previous generations of SSDs. These internal drives have a SATA 6Gb/s data interface.

Samsung 830 Series SSDs have sequential read speeds up to 520MB/sec, according to manufacturer specs, and random read speeds up to 80,000 IOPS.

Solid state drives are quieter and more energy efficient than hard disk drive technology and, as prices drop and storage capacities rise, are becoming the storage media of choice for many applications.

Samsung 830 Series SSDs are available in storage capacities of 64GB, 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. These drives, along with other Samsung technology, will be on display at the 2012 International CES from January 10 – 13, 2012 in the Las Vegas Convention Center, and showcased during the Samsung press conference on January 9.
