Storage Visions 2012, an Entertainment Storage Alliance Event, will take place just prior to the International CES. The Storage Visions show will be held at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas January 8 - 9, one day before CES begins at the Las Vegas Convention Center. 

While CES showcases all consumer electronics trends and products, Storage Visions is devoted to exploring the new technology and challenges faced by the storage media industry.

The theme of this year's event is Heavy Storage for Thin Clients, and focuses on cloud-based storage vs. local storage as well as cost-effective solutions for storage of the massive amounts of content created by businesses and consumers today. 

The conference will explore how  digital content will be created, protected and stored in the future, and will feature keynote speeches, forums and more from industry leaders, including representatives from SanDisk, Micron, SeaChange International, DiskTrend, Samsung and many others.

Some of the challenges in this new era of data storage include managing the convergence of digital content creation and storage, especially as resolution of digital media increases and it becomes easier for anyone to create high quality content.

As new storage methods evolve, it becomes even more important to have a reliable source for data recovery services. Today's storage media are extremely complex; data recovery, especially physical recovery, should not be attempted by anyone other than professionals to minimize the risk of catastrophic data loss.
